Bosa is returning from the torn ACL he suffered last season—his second ACL injury since entering the NFL—which limited him to just three games. His presence on the practice field is an encouraging sign that he will be ready when the 49ers open the 2026 season against the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia.
His return should provide a major boost to a 49ers pass rush that finished with an NFL-low 20 sacks in 2025.
The 49ers held their first full training camp practice on Sunday, and Bay Area News Group's Cam Inman shared video of Bosa taking part in drills alongside his teammates.
On Saturday, general manager John Lynch praised Bosa's recovery efforts.
"Nick has always had a different schedule," Lynch said. "He's got a great sense, a great instinct for his body and what he needs. He'll probably start in a phase, individual first, and then we'll add as we see fit, as he sees fit."
The 49ers are opening training camp without head coach Kyle Shanahan, who is recovering from injuries sustained in a recent car accident. Assistant head coach and offensive line coach Chris Foerster is serving as interim head coach while Shanahan remains sidelined or limited.
