Evans already owns a Hall of Fame-caliber résumé, topping 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first 11 NFL seasons. However, his 2025 campaign was limited to just eight games due to hamstring and clavicle injuries and a concussion.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox recently highlighted several veteran additions he is eager to watch in training camp, with Evans making the list.
"Evans is now healthy, but he'll soon be suiting up for training camp with the San Francisco 49ers," Knox wrote. "We can't wait to get a lengthy look at the 32-year-old in Kyle Shanahan's always potent offense."
Early returns from offseason work have already impressed 49ers tight end George Kittle.
"Just so savvy," Kittle said of Evans. "Catches everything, runs great routes, gives great effort. I'm all-in on Mike Evans."
Last month, fullback Kyle Juszczyk noted that Evans looked "unguardable" during offseason practices, while Kittle added that the 49ers' wide receiver room could be the deepest he has seen during his tenure in San Francisco.
While seeing Evans in anything other than a Buccaneers uniform will take some adjustment, the veteran receiver has the potential to elevate the 49ers' offense by giving quarterback Brock Purdy a proven red-zone and perimeter weapon.
"Evans has been one of the game's most prolific and consistent receivers for more than a decade," Knox added. "In camp, we fully expect him to establish himself as Brock Purdy's go-to perimeter target.
"And if Evans, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey can all stay healthy for the majority of the coming season—Kittle is making his way back from a torn Achilles—San Francisco's offense may go from being a top-10 scoring unit in 2025 to being top-five or better."
