Mims joins the 49ers as the team begins organized team activities (OTAs) this week, adding another body to a crowded running back room that already includes Christian McCaffrey, Kaelon Black, Jordan James, Isaac Guerendo, and others.
The Buffalo Bills originally signed Mims (5-10, 205) as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State in 2023. He spent time with both the Bills and the New Orleans Saints during his rookie season and remained with New Orleans through 2024. Mims later signed with the Tennessee Titans in 2025.
During the 2025 season, Mims appeared in one game for the Titans but did not record any offensive statistics. However, he recorded one kickoff return for 19 yards on special teams.
In 2024 with the Saints, Mims recorded 20 rushing attempts for 70 yards while adding 12 receptions for 71 receiving yards. Over three NFL seasons, he has appeared in 14 games.
