The 49ers initially held the No. 27 overall pick but traded down with the Miami Dolphins, acquiring the No. 30 overall pick and No. 90 (third round) in exchange for their original first-round selection and No. 138 (fourth-round compensatory).
San Francisco then moved out of Round 1 entirely, dealing the No. 30 overall pick to the New York Jets for the No. 33 overall pick (first in Round 2) and a fifth-round selection (No. 179).
The Dolphins selected San Diego State cornerback Chris Johnson with the No. 27 pick, while the Jets selected Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. at No. 30.
With the trades, the 49ers added draft capital while positioning themselves early on Day 2.
