Greenlaw wore No. 57 during his first six NFL seasons with the 49ers. In his absence last year, linebacker Luke Gifford took over the number while Greenlaw played in Denver. Gifford, notably, has since re-signed with San Francisco on a two-year deal.
So, who gets No. 57 in 2026? Gifford put that question to rest over the weekend, confirming that the number belongs to Greenlaw.
"Guys don't worry… 5-7 is all Dre," Gifford wrote on Instagram.
A grateful Greenlaw responded, "Respect, my guy. I got you for Christmas."
It appears Gifford's gesture isn't going unappreciated, with Greenlaw hinting at a meaningful holiday gift in return.
Greenlaw appeared in eight games with the Broncos last season, recording 43 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, two passes defensed, and a forced fumble. He is now set to reunite with Fred Warner in 2026, reestablishing one of the NFL's top linebacker duos.
