ESPN's Todd Archer reported that the Dallas Cowboys are signing former San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Matt Hennessy, an unrestricted free agent.

Hennessy entered the NFL as a third-round draft pick (78th overall) out of Temple in 2020, selected by the Atlanta Falcons. He spent his first four NFL seasons with the Falcons—including a 2023 campaign spent entirely on injured reserve—before a brief offseason stint with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024. Hennessy returned to the Falcons' active roster in late 2024 before signing a two-year deal with the 49ers on December 26, 2024.

During the 2025 season, Hennessy appeared in all 17 regular-season games for the 49ers, earning two starts. He recorded 173 offensive snaps and 81 special teams snaps while committing zero penalties and allowing zero sacks. Over his NFL career, Hennessy has appeared in 64 games and made 24 starts.
