The Pro Football Talk writer also noted a connection between the teams. The 49ers hired former Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus as their assistant head coach of defense this offseason.
"Odighizuwa signed a four-year, $80 million contract last offseason before the Cowboys traded for defensive tackles Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams," Charean Williams wrote. "On Tuesday, they signed nose tackle Otito Ogbonnia."
According to OverTheCap.com, Odighizuwa is scheduled to carry a $20.75 million salary-cap hit in 2026.
The Cowboys selected Odighizuwa (6-2, 280) in the third round (75th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft out of UCLA. He has spent his entire NFL career in Dallas, serving as a primary starter along the interior defensive line since his rookie season.
