The challenge for the 49ers may be assembling a competitive trade package. San Francisco currently holds the No. 27 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, a selection that could fall well below what other interested teams can offer.
According to Jason La Canfora of SportsBoom, the Baltimore Ravens may already be preparing a proposal that the 49ers would struggle to match. Baltimore holds the No. 14 overall pick and is reportedly willing to include that selection and more in a deal for Crosby.
"I heard pretty strongly they are offering their one (first-round pick), plus two more Day Two (rounds two and three) picks," one general manager, who is also interested in Crosby, told La Canfora. "I don't know exactly in which years, and they probably want them spread out, but Baltimore is being aggressive."
If the Raiders ultimately move Crosby, the franchise is believed to be seeking compensation comparable to the blockbuster trade involving Micah Parsons. In that deal, the Green Bay Packers surrendered two first-round picks and a player to acquire the star pass rusher.
While many initially viewed that level of compensation as unrealistic, others aren't so sure anymore.
"Some execs believe Las Vegas will end up getting two first-round picks for him," La Canfora added.
San Francisco finished the 2025 season with just 20 sacks—the lowest total in the NFL. Complicating matters further, star defensive end Nick Bosa and second-year edge rusher Mykel Williams are both recovering from ACL injuries.
Adding a disruptive presence like Crosby would address one of the roster's biggest weaknesses. The question is whether the 49ers can realistically compete with aggressive bidders such as Baltimore.
