The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly moving on from defensive tackle Kalia Davis. According to Jordan Schultz, the 49ers do not plan to place a tender on the restricted free agent, allowing him to hit the open market.

Davis entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (220th overall) out of UCF in the 2022 NFL Draft, selected by the 49ers. He spent his rookie campaign on the reserve/non-football injury list. Davis missed the start of the 2023 season after undergoing knee surgery.

Davis has spent his entire professional career with the 49ers, primarily as a rotational piece along the defensive line—until this most recent season. He made 17 starts during his 2025 campaign, recording 28 tackles (four for a loss), 0.5 sacks, and three passes defensed throughout the season.

Over his three active NFL seasons, Davis has appeared in 33 games. His career totals include 41 tackles (five for a loss), 1.5 sacks, four pass deflections, and one interception.
