The good news for the 49ers: John Lynch expects Bosa to be ready for the start of the 2026 season. In fact, while speaking to reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, San Francisco's general manager told reporters Bosa will "certainly" be ready by training camp.
"Nick's doing great," Lynch said. "His rehab has been excellent. [The injury occurred] early enough that we anticipate him being ready — I don't know for the whole offseason — but training camp, certainly."
Bosa, 28, is entering his eighth NFL season and remains the centerpiece of the 49ers' pass rush. Over his career, he has totaled 278 tackles, 91 tackles for loss, 64.5 sacks, two interceptions, nine passes defensed, and 13 forced fumbles. His return would provide a major boost to a defensive front looking to rebound in 2026.
Other 49ers injury updates
Lynch also provided updates on several other key contributors.
Defensive end Keion White, who recently underwent ankle surgery after being shot, is expected to return in time for training camp. White is projected to spend six to eight weeks non-weight-bearing, but the 49ers are confident he will make a full recovery.
Additionally, defensive linemen Mykel Williams and Alfred Collins are also expected to be healthy in time for training camp. Williams suffered a torn ACL on November 2, while Collins underwent shoulder surgery following the season. Both players are entering their second NFL seasons.
