San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner has reached two Super Bowls in his NFL career—and fallen short both times. Those losses haven't discouraged the All-Pro defender. Instead, they've fueled his belief that the 49ers will return to the biggest stage and finish the job.

Appearing on the Pardon My Take podcast, Warner made a confident declaration about the franchise's future.


"We'll get another chance," Warner said. "... We are going to win the next one ... It's only a matter of time, and the next one, we're definitely winning it. I guarantee. Next year."

With Super Bowl LXI set to be played at SoFi Stadium, the 49ers have a clear target in sight. Warner's message was clear: San Francisco isn't done chasing a championship.

"The goal is always to win the Super Bowl," Warner added. "And that's just been what it is since I've gotten here. We have a pedigree, where you walk in that building, it has the trophies in the case right there. You've got five Super Bowl trophies, and it's like, this is our standard. This is what it is. If you don't get this, then it's not enough. That is the standard. That is the goal every year."

The linebacker is entering his ninth NFL season and remains the emotional leader of the 49ers' defense. Unfortunately, his 2025 campaign was cut short after just six games due to a dislocated and fractured right ankle. However, Warner is fully healthy now and ready for offseason work as the 49ers prepare for another Super Bowl push.

Warner also lightheartedly addressed speculation about the electrical substation near the 49ers' practice facility and Levi's Stadium. Some have blamed its proximity for the team's recent injury woes. Warner leaned into the humor.


"That's just part of how it goes," Warner said of falling short in past Super Bowls. "And maybe the substation will give us some extra superpowers after this year. If we just embrace it and let it soak—like the Hulk—use that charge to go to the Super Bowl."

Fueled by unfinished business—and maybe some superpowers—Warner's confidence reflects a 49ers team that believes its championship window remains wide open.
