New England punched its ticket to the Super Bowl by edging the Denver Broncos 10-7 in Sunday's AFC Championship Game. Seattle followed by winning a dramatic NFC title matchup later in the day, defeating the Los Angeles Rams 31-27.
The Patriots are designated as the home team for Super Bowl LX. However, according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic, New England will not occupy the 49ers' locker room at Levi's Stadium. Instead, that space will be used by the Seahawks—a decision unlikely to sit well with 49ers fans, given the long-standing rivalry between the NFC West foes.
Both teams finished the regular season with 14-3 records. Seattle, the NFC's No. 1 seed, advanced to Super Bowl LX by eliminating the 49ers in the Divisional Round before defeating the Rams in the conference championship.
New England's postseason run began with a win over the Houston Texans, followed by its narrow victory over the AFC's top-seeded Broncos.
This is the second time the Super Bowl will be played at Levi's Stadium. The first was for Super Bowl 50, following the 2015 NFL season. That earlier matchup featured the Broncos beating the Carolina Panthers.
