The San Francisco 49ers' position in the 2026 NFL Draft is now set. Following Sunday night's Divisional Round playoff game—when the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Chicago Bears—the 49ers officially secured the 27th overall pick in the first round. That is one spot lower than where they would have landed had the Bears won.

San Francisco finished the regular season with 12 wins and advanced to the playoffs before eliminating the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round. The 49ers' postseason run came to an abrupt end with a lopsided 41–6 loss to their NFC West rival, the Seattle Seahawks, in the Divisional Round.


With their draft slot finalized, the 49ers have several potential directions they could take in Round 1. Needs along the defensive line, offensive line, and at wide receiver are all expected to factor into the team's offseason planning, making San Francisco an intriguing team to project in mock drafts.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch will once again be tasked with finding an impact player to help the 49ers improve in 2026.

The 2026 NFL Draft will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from April 23–25. The Las Vegas Raiders, one of four three-win teams, currently hold the No. 1 overall pick, followed by the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, and Tennessee Titans.
