Seattle Seahawks season ticket holders could be putting their ticket privileges at risk if they attempt to resell seats for Saturday night's Divisional Round playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers.

According to one season ticket holder, the Seahawks have begun issuing stern warnings to fans who list their tickets for resale.


One fan who will be out of town for the game shared a message he received from the team after posting his tickets for sale.

"Our records indicate that your seats for the upcoming Divisional Round Playoff game are currently posted for resale," the Seahawks wrote. "As communicated prior to the 2025 season, 2026 renewal eligibility may be impacted if it is determined that your season tickets, including any playoff games, were used primarily for resale purposes."

The Seahawks are clearly monitoring reseller markets to sway season ticket holders from listing their seats for sale.

The fan expressed frustration with the warning, writing, "I pay for my tickets and can do whatever I want with them."


The Seahawks' stance is clearly aimed at preserving home-field advantage and preventing 49ers fans from scooping up tickets from Seattle supporters who are unable to attend—or looking to turn a profit.


It's a legitimate concern. 49ers fans are known for traveling well and often take over opposing stadiums, diminishing home-field advantage. That was evident in Week 1, when San Francisco fans made their presence felt at Lumen Field. It also helps that the team has a significant national following, prompting fans in other cities to attend when the 49ers visit.

However, the dynamic can change in the postseason. With higher stakes and limited inventory, Seattle-area fans may be more inclined to hold onto their tickets and attend the Divisional Round matchup.

"Our fan base shows up better than anyone to me in the NFL, better than anyone wherever I've ever been, by far," head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Tuesday. "I think it's always harder in the playoffs, for some reason. I don't know how it works, but stadiums do a better job of getting in their home fans. But our fans roll deep, so hopefully it'll be the same as usual."

As of now, ticket prices reflect the demand. On StubHub, the cheapest ticket for Saturday's 49ers-Seahawks playoff game is listed at $548, while the most expensive seat—located in the first row near the 30-yard line behind the Seahawks sideline—is priced at $2,837.
