The clip drew attention not only from fans and media but also from the Santa Clara Police Department, which told TMZ Sports that they are "aware" of the video.
"At this point, the video is being reviewed, and further details can be provided when available," a spokesperson for the department said.
Aiyuk issued a public apology, stating that his future content would no longer feature him speeding.
The 49ers recently placed Aiyuk on the reserve/left squad list, officially ending his season. Speculation has arisen regarding his future with the team, as head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed he has not spoken with Aiyuk in over a month. The team reportedly struggled to keep tabs on the receiver while hoping he would return from the ACL and MCL injuries he suffered in October 2024 and contribute this season.
Shanahan added, "He's been extremely distant since he got hurt, and was hoping it would happen once he got healthy, but it never happened."
Aiyuk signed a four-year, $120 million contract extension with the 49ers just last year. However, the team voided his 2026 guaranteed money, reportedly due to the receiver's failure to attend offseason rehab appointments. That led to speculation that a team-player split is on the horizon.
