San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy looks like he's having fun again—and there's a good reason why. The 49ers extended their winning streak to four games on Sunday with a 37-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans, improving to 10-4 and strengthening their playoff chances.

Purdy turned in one of his most efficient performances of the season, completing 23 of 30 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns. His 140.3 passer rating marked the seventh time in his NFL career that he's posted a rating of at least 140.0, tying Hall of Famer Kurt Warner for the most such games by a quarterback in his first four NFL seasons.


After the game, NBC Sports Bay Area's Laura Britt asked Purdy whether he's felt his confidence grow as the season has progressed. In his response, Purdy offered a clear look into his game-day mindset and when he allows himself to "have fun" on the field.

"I just think, for me, I can have fun and stuff when I'm on top of my job, and when I do my assignment well," Purdy explained. "And then, we can have fun when we execute. And so, it's not, 'Hey, I'm going to go into this game and just have fun.' It's, 'No, I've got to go out and do my job for four quarters,' and within that, how can I get our teammates going? How can I create some energy around the guys and stuff?"

Despite his disciplined approach, Purdy also maintains a healthy perspective on playing professional football for a living.

"Just remembering that, also, it is a kids' game that we're playing that we're fortunate enough to play as grown men," Purdy added. "And so, how can we have fun within that? But I have a job to do, and that's first and foremost."

The 49ers will have even more to enjoy if they can carry this momentum into the postseason after a 2025 campaign that has been heavily impacted by injuries. Over the final three weeks of the regular season, San Francisco faces a challenging stretch against the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, and Seattle Seahawks.


For Purdy, however, the focus remains simple.

"I think, for us, it's just all about getting better," he said. "Even late in the season, we can go in and watch film, and there's still little ways, whether it's the detail, the footwork, or situational football, making decisions, we need to just continue to get better, and that's across the board.

"So, we're going to continue to do that. That excites all of us. And more than anything, we've just got to stick together and continue to do this thing as a family."
