After the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan provided the following injury updates:
- DT Kalia Davis suffered a broken hand and did not return. The team will evaluate his status on Friday.
- DE Yetur Gross-Matos left the game with a pulled hamstring and did not return.
- LB Dee Winters sustained a shoulder injury but was able to re-enter the game.
- CB Upton Stout exited late with an ankle injury.
Mac Jones pushes through the pain
Quarterback Mac Jones was noticeably limping in the third quarter before taking a brutal hit near the goal line. Despite being shaken up, he remained in the game and battled through the discomfort.
"He was all right," Shanahan told reporters. "Hurt his knee for a little bit there, but he ended up bouncing back from that. And then, his forearm was cramping there in the second half. Then the fourth quarter, that was bothering him, but he worked through it."
Shanahan praised Jones' toughness after the game. The quarterback finished with 342 passing yards and two touchdowns.
"He played his ass off," Shanahan said. "He was unbelievable in the first half. Got banged up a little bit there in the second half, and battled through it."
Jones downplayed the severity of his injuries, insisting he felt fine afterward.
"Definitely, a lot of things happened, but I feel good," Jones said. "Just working through some stuff. I mean, I was able to play, so that's all that matters. If I feel like I can protect myself, then I feel like it's my job to be out there."
Brock Purdy setback
Before kickoff, reports surfaced that quarterback Brock Purdy's toe injury setback—already ruling him out against the Rams—could also sideline him in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Shanahan, however, downplayed the severity—at least when it comes to the reports.
"I don't know what reports happen, but everything we told you guys [this] week is true," Shanahan said. "He just re-aggravated it, and it's week-to-week. We don't know how it's going to heal, and hopefully, he'll be better tomorrow, and it'll continue to go throughout the week."
