- FB Kyle Juszczyk is in the concussion protocol. He exited Sunday's game early and did not return.
- LG Ben Bartch suffered a high-ankle sprain and is expected to be out "a while."
- DB Siran Neal is in the concussion protocol.
- OL Spencer Burford is dealing with a knee injury and will be re-evaluated as the week progresses.
- WR Jauan Jennings injured his ankle and will be re-evaluated as the week progresses.
Neal was briefly evaluated for a concussion during Sunday's game but was cleared to return. Shanahan stated that he reported some symptoms on Monday morning.
Shanahan said he spoke with Juszczyk after the game, and the fullback was in attendance for the team's Monday meeting.
"It was good today when I saw him at our team meeting," Shanahan said. "But it's all different with that protocol stuff, so it's kind of out of our hands, it's out of his hands. It's how he reacts with that stuff throughout the week, and going through all that stuff to know if he can come back."
As for Burford, Shanahan said, "We've gotta see how his knee reacts over these next couple days to decide if it'll heal or if we have to go a different direction with it. So, yeah, he's day-to-day right now, and hopefully, we'll have some better answers as this week goes."
With Bartch sidelined, rookie Connor Colby stepped in at left guard against the Saints and is expected to start again this Sunday when the 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals in their home opener.
"I've loved how he's been here so far, and I thought he came in that game early—I think it was late first quarter, I'm not sure," Shanahan said of Colby. "But I thought he did a hell of a job, made some plays. He'll get better the more he plays, but he was ready for the moment and definitely helped us with that win."
