Update: Jennings ended up being listed as a non-participant in practice, which means he was out there, but didn't go through drills with his teammates.
Jennings exited Sunday's 17-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth quarter and did not return to the game. Fortunately, MRI and CT scans this week revealed no significant damage. His absence on Wednesday was believed to be precautionary, and his participation on Thursday is an encouraging sign for his Week 2 availability.
The 49ers will release their official practice participation report later today, which will reveal Jennings' workload for the session. The media is not allowed to observe team drills. It's doubtful Jennings will be a full participant.
Meanwhile, quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder, toe) remained sidelined. Purdy is not expected to play this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, with NFL insider Ian Rapoport reporting that the quarterback could miss two to five weeks due to his toe injury. However, general manager John Lynch stated that the 49ers consider Purdy to be week-to-week.
On the defensive side, pass rushers Nick Bosa (no injury) and Yetur Gross-Matos (knee) were back on the field Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice. Running back Christian McCaffrey also returned following a veteran rest day, as he continues to manage a lingering calf issue.
Additionally, left tackle Trent Williams (knee), who did not practice on Wednesday, was spotted working on conditioning exercises on the side.
