San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey entered Sunday's Week 1 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks with 1,347 carries for 6,387 rushing yards and 52 rushing touchdowns over his career. He also had 524 receptions for 4,466 receiving yards and 29 receiving touchdowns, proving to be one of the most versatile offensive weapons in the NFL and a key asset out of the backfield for quarterback Brock Purdy.

McCaffrey needed just 34 receiving yards to reach 4,500 career receiving yards—and he achieved the milestone in the third quarter against Seattle. He reached this mark in only 96 career games, making him the fastest running back to surpass 4,500 career receiving yards since at least 1970, according to the 49ers Communications staff.



Now in his ninth NFL season, McCaffrey is aiming to help the 49ers rebound from a disappointing 2024 campaign that ended with a 6-11 record and a last-place finish in the NFC West.
