The only two active players who missed Wednesday's practice due to injury—wide receiver Jordan Watkins (ankle) and defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos (knee)—reportedly returned to the field.
How much each player participated in Thursday's practice will be revealed when the 49ers release their official practice participation report. Regardless, the returns of Watkins and Gross-Matos are a welcome boost to the team's depth as San Francisco looks to start the season strong.
Further strengthening the receiving corps, Jauan Jennings returned to practice on Monday after missing most of training camp due to a calf injury. His presence gives quarterback Brock Purdy additional options in the passing game.
The 49ers selected Watkins in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, while Gross-Matos joined San Francisco last year on a two-year deal following four seasons with the Carolina Panthers.
