The deal involves the two teams swapping 2027 sixth- and seventh-round draft picks. Moore, who was likely to be a cut candidate for the Chiefs, now has an opportunity to prove himself with a new team.
San Francisco's receiver depth has taken a significant hit due to injuries. Brandon Aiyuk is still working his way back from the ACL and MCL injuries he suffered in October 2024. Jauan Jennings remains sidelined with a calf injury, while rookie Jordan Watkins is battling a high-ankle sprain.
To make matters worse, the NFL recently suspended veteran Demarcus Robinson for three games for violating the league's personal conduct policy.
The Chiefs made Moore a second-round pick out of Western Michigan in 2022. Over three NFL seasons, he has recorded 43 receptions for 494 yards and one touchdown. However, his 2024 campaign was derailed by a core muscle injury that limited him to just six games before landing on injured reserve.
The 24-year-old wide receiver is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is set to earn a $1.51 million base salary in 2025.
