That teammate is none other than star left tackle Trent Williams.
"He's never scored a touchdown," Kittle told quarterback Brock Purdy during a practice session featured in The Build, the 49ers' in-house documentary-style web series.
Kittle didn't stop there, adding: "That's the goal this year, is to win the Super Bowl, but also a Trent Williams touchdown."
It's not a far-fetched idea. Even at 37 years old, Williams remains one of the most athletic offensive linemen in football. Still, that doesn't mean everyone thinks he should be the go-to option in a game-deciding moment.
"Wide open to win the game?" Purdy asked fullback Kyle Juszczyk.
Juszczyk simply responded, "No."
Purdy recently praised Kittle's elite playmaking ability—and his lighthearted sideline personality—in an interview for the NFL Top 100 Players of 2025 ranking.
"You get the ball in his hands, man, he can run past guys, break tackles," Purdy said in an interview for the NFL Top 100 Players of 2025 ranking. "And he's funny. On the sideline, he's asking me for some Toyotas and talking about commercials and stuff, like, mid-game. And I'm like, 'Bro, lock in.'"
While the 49ers' ultimate goal is another Super Bowl run, Kittle's challenge adds an entertaining subplot to the upcoming season. If Williams does score, it could become one of the most talked-about moments of 2025.
Watch out, NFL defenders.
