Ahead of practice, the team made several roster moves, signing DE Trevis Gipson and RB Jeff Wilson Jr. to one-year contracts. The 49ers also placed RB Ameer Abdullah on injured reserve after he sustained a rib injury in Saturday's preseason game against the Denver Broncos. Additionally, QB Tanner Mordecai was waived.
OL Andre Dillard was activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list following recovery from ankle surgery.

Injury updates
Rookie WR Jordan Watkins suffered a high-ankle sprain in Saturday's game and is expected to miss about a month. Head coach Kyle Shanahan expressed disappointment given Watkins' strong camp and potential early impact.
RELATED
"It was really unfortunate for Watkins to get that setback because I really believed he could have helped us early," Shanahan said, "but he needed the practice to do it, to be able to help us. It's a minor setback for him. He'll get back. Hopefully, he's back around then, but he'll still need to pick up on the practice time and stuff like that, and it gives opportunities for a lot more guys."
There is still no timeline for WR Jauan Jennings' return from a calf injury. However, he was seen on a side field doing some light running.
WR Jacob Cowing is expected to return to practice Tuesday, while CB Renardo Green will miss at least another week. Both are dealing with hamstring injuries.
DE Yetur Gross-Matos isn't expected to return this week. He remains on the PUP list as he recovers from a knee injury.
Neither CB Upton Stout nor DL Mykel Williams—both rookies—played on Saturday or practiced on Monday. Stout is dealing with a calf injury while Williams suffered a hyperextended knee last week in practice.
LB Tatum Bethune (ankle) and safety Marques Sigle (knee) participated in Monday's practice after exiting Saturday's game early. Although, Bethune's absence from the game was brief.
RB Isaac Guerendo was spotted doing individual conditioning at full speed. However, that doesn't indicate a potential early return from his shoulder injury.
"He's going full speed because it's his shoulder," Shanahan explained. "So, he can run full speed. He's just got to protect himself. So, it's his shoulder that's going to keep him out a couple of more weeks."
Quick notes
RB Jeff Wilson Jr. looked sharp in his first practice back with the 49ers.
"He looked good today," Shanahan said. "Has a different haircut, so I didn't recognize him right away, but got a few carries today and looked like Jeff."
In his first practice with the 49ers, Andre Dillard took reps at left tackle, competing for a backup offensive tackle spot with Spencer Burford and Austen Pleasants.
The 49ers are so short on receivers that the team canceled one-on-one drills Monday and shortened the session. Despite the lengthy injury list, the team remains on track for Thursday's joint practice with the Raiders in Henderson, Nevada.
"Hopefully, we won't have to cut too many things out versus Vegas, but we'll see after the next practice," Shanahan said.
The healthy 49ers receivers participating in Monday's practice were Junior Bergen, Robbie Chosen, Russell Gage, Isaiah Hodgins, Terique Owens, Ricky Pearsall, and Demarcus Robinson.
QB Carter Bradley, who struggled in Saturday's preseason game, struggled during team drills, mishandling a snap and missing a pitch to RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn. Mac Jones subsequently replaced him for the remainder of practice.
WR Ricky Pearsall caught a red-zone touchdown pass from Mac Jones.
WR Robbie Chosen made a highlight-reel diving touchdown catch in the red zone on a pass from Jones, beating safety Jaylen Mahoney in coverage.
Rookie Marques Sigle and veteran Jason Pinnock were the starting safeties in practice, with Ji'Ayir Brown working with the reserves. Pinnock broke up a pass from Brock Purdy intended for Pearsall.
DE Nick Bosa intercepted a tipped pass from Purdy after a deflection by newly signed DE Trevis Gipson. Gipson also pressured Purdy multiple times. Bosa added at least one would-be sack and several quarterback pressures.
DE Bryce Huff received first-team reps opposite Bosa.
A brief skirmish erupted between LB Fred Warner and RB Patrick Taylor Jr. after a hard hit from Warner, but was quickly diffused without incident.
Next practice
The 49ers will practice again Tuesday, August 12, at 10:25 a.m. PT. They will take Wednesday off before holding a joint practice with the Raiders on Thursday in Henderson, Nevada.
