The biggest scare came when first-round draft pick Mykel Williams was shaken up during red-zone drills. Fortunately, initial evaluations were positive. The team believes the rookie defensive end hyperextended his knee, which will sideline him for Saturday's preseason opener against Denver, but may not be a long-term concern.

Another notable injury is to rookie running back Jordan James, who did not participate in Thursday's practice.
"Jordan James broke his finger, so he's getting surgery on that," Shanahan said. "He'll be out a couple of weeks."
The injury likely occurred during Tuesday's practice, as that was the last session James participated in.
Shanahan also noted that defensive tackle Jordan Elliott is managing back issues, but there's optimism he could return to practice next week.
Additionally, rookie safety Marques Sigle and cornerback Darrell Luter Jr. were evaluated for concussions. Both "checked out good," according to Shanahan.
