Last month, during an appearance on the Bussin' With The Boys podcast, Kittle was asked what he would be willing to do to finally earn a Super Bowl ring. His humorous (yet intense) list included going on injured reserve in Week 16, biting someone's ear off, or even cutting off his pinky finger.
Kittle also said he'd be willing to serve a year in prison if it meant bringing a sixth Lombardi Trophy to the Bay Area. That bold statement sparked a hilarious story involving a visit to San Quentin State Prison during his rookie season.
Now, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has taken his turn on the Bussin' With The Boys podcast and was asked the same question. Purdy wasn't willing to end his NFL career—even with a guaranteed Super Bowl win—because he believes there could be multiple championships in his future.
"I don't want to end my career because we can go win more," Purdy said. "Why would I end the career just for one when we could win multiple?"
Purdy also declined the idea of cutting off his foot to guarantee a championship. But once he heard about Kittle's prison-for-a-ring stance, the same scenario was posed to him.
"I would go to prison for a year, yes," Purdy admitted. "I don't want to cut off any limbs because after that year, I'd like to get back, and hopefully go chase more."
The podcast hosts followed up with one final hypothetical: Would Purdy rather finish his career with one Super Bowl win with the 49ers or three with the division-rival Seattle Seahawks? The quarterback scoffed at the idea.
"Dude, stop," Purdy responded. "No. Niners, bro. ... Bang, bang, all the way, dude."
