However, even more significant is the fully guaranteed money tied to the deal, which Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports is an impressive $100 million. Fully guaranteed money is the amount a player is guaranteed to receive no matter what, while total guarantees include that amount plus additional money that may become guaranteed later.



If accurate, that fully guaranteed amount ranks among the top 12 in the NFL, just behind Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love, whose deal includes $100.8 million fully guaranteed, per Over The Cap.

Purdy's new $53 million average annual salary ties him with Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff as the seventh-highest-paid player in the league. His $181 million in total guarantees ranks eighth among all players.

Maiocco also noted that the contract is expected to be finalized next week, so we may have to wait a bit longer to learn the year-by-year salary cap implications of this blockbuster deal.
