While the San Francisco 49ers' 2025 opponents have been known since December, the official dates and times of their games will be revealed this Wednesday. The 49ers are scheduled to play the Browns and Colts on the road, which had raised the possibility of the Bay Area team playing a game internationally.
However, that won't be the case. The Browns will host the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on October 5, while the Colts will face the Atlanta Falcons at Berlin's Olympic Stadium on November 9.
The 49ers have played three regular-season games outside the United States, most recently in 2022, when they defeated the Arizona Cardinals 38-10 in Mexico City. They also played in London twice—against the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2013 and the Denver Broncos in 2010.
In January, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell highlighted the league's commitment to growing its international footprint.
"Our hope would be, at some stage, to get to 16 games in the next few years," Goodell said. "We think we can do that. If I think it's an indication of the popularity of our game. Every time we take our game to a new market—Brazil's a great example of it—the fans go crazy for it. They sold out the tickets in less than 90 minutes. People had a wonderful time. It was the talk of the town."
