The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown.
Perry enters his ninth season with the 49ers after spending the previous eight seasons as the team's head strength and conditioning coach (2019-24) and assistant strength and conditioning coach (2017-18). As vice president of player health and performance, Perry will oversee sports medicine, strength and conditioning, player rehabilitation, functional performance, and nutrition. In his role, he will manage and orchestrate all available resources to ensure 49ers players are provided the best standard of care, with the goal of maximizing their performance and availability.
Prior to joining 49ers, Perry spent four years (2012-15) as an assistant strength & conditioning coach at the University of Minnesota. Before joining the Golden Gophers, Perry worked with Josh Heupel's The 14 Foundation and its Day of Champions event while serving as the head strength & conditioning coach for the program. In addition, Perry served as a strength & conditioning coach at Marcellus (MI) High School in 2008.
Perry graduated from Western Michigan University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in physical education and a minor in health education. He later earned his master's degree in applied kinesiology with a minor in sport and exercise science at the University of Minnesota in 2014. Perry is a certified strength & conditioning specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
