According to Sports Reference, Stout tallied 52 tackles (eight for a loss), one sack, one pass defensed, and one interception across 12 games in 2024, earning first-team All-Conference USA honors.
Over five collegiate seasons—including a transfer from North Texas to Western Kentucky in 2022—Stout accumulated 166 tackles (12 for a loss), 1.5 sacks, 15 passes defensed, six interceptions, three touchdowns, and one forced fumble. Notably, four of those interceptions came during the 2022 season.
The 49ers are expected to target a cornerback in the draft after losing starter Charvarius Ward in free agency. NFL.com projects Stout to be a sixth- or seventh-round selection. He could add depth to a secondary featuring cornerbacks Deommodore Lenoir and Renardo Green.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Stout measured just under 5-foot-9 and weighed in at 181 pounds. He ran a 4.44-second 40-yard dash, leapt 37.5 inches in the vertical jump, and posted a 10-foot-8 broad jump.
"An undersized cornerback who spent much of his time playing wide corner, Stout has the twitch and athleticism to project inside," wrote NFL Media analyst Lance Zierlein in his draft profile. "What he lacks in length he makes up for with his competitiveness. He's a natural pattern reader with the hips and feet to match breaks without giving up much separation.
"There are times he fails to trust his cover talent, holding and grabbing without cause. He's fairly instinctive and has the short-area burst to squeeze throwing windows. Stout's physical profile could hurt his draft standing, but the determination and athleticism will be hard to ignore."
