Felton totaled 1,027 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns over two seasons at Virginia Tech. Notably, eight of those touchdowns came during the 2023 campaign.
NFL Media analyst Lance Zierlein offered some insight into why Felton's college production may not reflect his full potential.
"Height, weight, speed prospect whose production suffered from scheme fit and quarterback play in 2024," Zierlein wrote in his NFL.com scouting report. "Felton is a linear mover who needs to be used with a heavier dose of vertical routes to be effective. He's a nonchalant route runner underneath with below-average hands and run-after-catch talent. While his ball-tracking fails to stand out, he can out-stride and uncover against wide corners looking to run with his post and go routes.
"The 2024 production was disappointing, but there will be teams ready to believe in the speed and measurables with the hope he can become a rotational option to take the top off of coverages."
Felton certainly has the measurables. He stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 213 pounds. At the NFL Scouting Combine, he recorded a 4.5-second 40-yard dash, a 32.5-inch vertical jump, and a 10-foot-2 broad jump.
NFL.com projects Felton to be a sixth- or seventh-round selection.
"I'm going to make a name for myself as soon as I get my foot through the door," Felton told Melo in an interview. "I'm ready to show that the 2024 season was a write-off. Don't judge me based on the 2024 season.
"Just turn on my tape from 2023 and you'll see what I'm capable of. You'll see exactly what you need to see from me. As soon as I get to the NFL, I'm going to continue pushing forward. Everybody is going to feel me."
