Jennings is putting in the work this offseason to ensure a strong 2025 season and potentially earn a long-term deal. According to MLFootball (h/t to Nick San Miguel of Niner Noise), he's training with renowned wide receivers coach David Robinson to refine his game further.
"Jauan looks focused and his route running & footwork has improved tremendously in and out of his breaks!" Robinson told MLFootball.
The 49ers selected Jennings in the seventh round of the 2020 draft out of Tennessee. Though he didn't play his rookie year, he has become a reliable target for quarterback Brock Purdy, often making clutch catches when needed.
Jennings' breakout in 2024 came as Aiyuk struggled early in the season, and Jennings stepped up after Aiyuk's season-ending injury. In Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams, he posted a career-high 175 yards and three touchdowns on 11 receptions. Jennings also recorded five games with 88 or more receiving yards.
Had he not missed two mid-season games due to a hip injury or not been ejected in Week 18, Jennings likely would have surpassed 1,000 yards for the first time in his career.
"Jauan goes as hard as he can in every single situation," head coach Kyle Shanahan said in December. "Doesn't matter whether the ball is in his hands, he's running around or he's blocking, doesn't matter whether it's a deep throw, an underneath throw in practice or in games. Jauan is always just going 100 miles an hour and playing as physical as he can."
