"Floyd's market was hot, signing quickly after his release from the 49ers," Rapoport noted. "A few teams had inquired about a trade. Now, he lands back home.
Floyd spent just one season with the 49ers after signing a two-year, $20 million contract last year. His 8.5 sacks in 2024 ranked second on the team, trailing only Nick Bosa's nine. However, it was Floyd's lowest sack total since 2019, and he failed to make the significant impact the 49ers had initially hoped for.
Floyd finished last season with 42 tackles (eight for a loss), 16 quarterback hits, 8.5 sacks, a pass defensed, and a forced fumble while starting all 17 games. According to Pro Football Reference, he played 57% of the team's defensive snaps.
