San Francisco signed Mason (5-11, 223) as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech in 2022. Known for his physical running style, Mason quickly earned a spot in the 49ers' backfield.
In 2024, Mason stepped up significantly, filling in for an injured Christian McCaffrey. He carried the ball 153 times for 789 yards and three rushing touchdowns across 12 game appearances (six starts), per Pro Football Reference. Mason also contributed in the passing game, hauling in 11 receptions for 91 yards.
Unfortunately, Mason's promising season was cut short when he suffered a high-ankle sprain during a Week 13 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. The injury landed him on injured reserve on December 7, ending his campaign prematurely.
Mason, 25, has amassed 1,253 rushing yards on 236 carries, with seven rushing touchdowns, averaging an impressive 5.3 yards per carry in 45 game appearances (six starts) through his three NFL seasons. He has added 14 receptions for 122 yards, showing some versatility in his game.
