The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Farrell (6-5, 250) out of Ohio State in the fifth round (No. 145 overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. Last season, Farrell recorded 12 receptions for 67 yards in 17 games (eight starts) with the Jaguars, playing 38% of the offensive snaps, according to Pro Football Reference.
Farrell, 27, earned an impressive 82.6 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus last season. Strong blocking is an attribute the 49ers value in their tight ends.
Over four NFL seasons, Farrell has caught 36 passes for 318 yards in 66 game appearances (20 starts).
