According to Dianna Russini, the Seattle Seahawks have signed Darnold to a three-year deal, giving the veteran quarterback a chance to prove that last season was no fluke.
Darnold posted the best numbers of his career in 2024, throwing for a personal-best 4,319 yards with 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while leading the Vikings to a 14-3 record. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that his new contract is worth $100.5 million, including $55 million guaranteed.
Seattle recently agreed to trade starting quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders, fueling speculation that the team would pursue Darnold in free agency.
The New York Jets drafted Darnold (6-3, 225) out of USC with the No. 3 overall pick in 2018. He has completed 61.2 percent of his passes for 16,383 yards, 98 touchdowns, and 68 interceptions over seven NFL seasons.
