Mike Garafolo reports that the San Francisco 49ers will interview former NFL cornerback DeAngelo Hall for their defensive backs coach position. Hall has been an assistant defensive backs coach with the Carolina Panthers since 2023. According to Garafolo, he left the Panthers in pursuit of a primary position coach role.

Hall was a three-time Pro Bowler and enjoyed a 14-year NFL career. The Atlanta Falcons selected him with the eighth overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech. After four seasons in Atlanta, he was traded to the Oakland Raiders in 2008 but was released that November. He then signed with Washington, where he played the remainder of his career before retiring after the 2017 season.

Hall finished his playing career with 814 tackles, 43 interceptions (five returned for touchdowns), 141 passes defensed, two sacks, 11 forced fumbles, and 15 fumble recoveries (five returned for touchdowns).

Daniel Bullocks is currently listed as the 49ers' defensive passing game specialist/defensive backs coach.
