Among those on Cameron's list were three impending 49ers free agents: cornerback Charvarius Ward, safety Talanoa Hufanga, and linebacker Dre Greenlaw. He suggested the New York Giants as a potential destination for both Ward and Hufanga, while naming the Los Angeles Rams as the best fit for Greenlaw.
It isn't all projected losses for the Santa Clara-based team. Interestingly, Cameron also pegged the 49ers as an ideal landing spot for Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa.
"Over the past two seasons, Osa Odighizuwa has established himself as a reliable interior pass-rusher, earning a 78.0 pass-rush grade in both campaigns," Cameron wrote. "He's totaled over 100 pressures and 10 sacks during that span, showcasing his consistent ability to disrupt opposing quarterbacks."
Odighizuwa tallied a career-high 4.5 sacks while playing 78% of the Cowboys' defensive snaps during the 2024 season. He added 47 tackles (five for a loss), a pass defensed, and a forced fumble.
Pro Football Focus recently ranked Odighizuwa as the 30th-best impending free agent.
"Reports suggest Robert Saleh is a strong contender to return as the 49ers' defensive coordinator, and if he does, addressing a pass rush that ranked 27th in pressures generated will likely be a top priority," Cameron added. "Odighizuwa's proven skill set could make him an ideal fit for the role."
With the team expected to part ways with defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, the 49ers may find someone like Odighizuwa a perfect addition to their defensive front.
