QB Caleb Williams
Caleb Williams has completed 61.6% of his passes this season and thrown for 2,612 yards, 14 touchdowns, and only five interceptions. His mobility and ability to extend plays outside the pocket make him a threat. Williams has rushed the ball 59 times for 378 yards, with 23 of those runs resulting in a first down. The 49ers' defense must play disciplined and contain Williams.
RB D'Andre Swift
D'Andre Swift is dealing with a quad injury and missed his second straight practice. Swift is the Bears' leading rusher with 704 yards and five touchdowns. He also has been targeted 39 times for 33 receptions and 313 yards. Swift's receiving and route-running ability, along with his quick burst and explosiveness, make him dangerous out of the backfield. The 49ers' run defense must ensure they are ready to take on Swift and limit his explosiveness.
WR Keenan Allen
Keenan Allen is the veteran receiver in the room and the fourth-leading pass catcher on the team. He has 44 receptions on 79 targets for 441 yards, averaging ten yards per reception, and is tied with fellow WR D.J. Moore with five TD receptions. His versatility is what makes him most dangerous. Allen will play predominantly in the slot but can also line up outside and be a threat. He is responsible for 25 first downs, so he also provides the ability to run great routes and keep the chains moving.
DE Montez Sweat
Montez Sweat has 4.5 sacks on the season, 12 solo tackles, and seven for loss. He plays with a relentless motor, which gives him a significant advantage in winning one-on-one matchups. If Sweat is left isolated against Jaylon Moore or Colton McKivitz, he could wreak havoc on the 49ers' offense, making it a tough day for Brock Purdy every time he drops back to pass.
CB Jaylon Johnson
Jaylon Johnson leads the team with two interceptions. He also has 25 solo tackles, four for a loss, and six pass deflections. Johnson is sticky in coverage and will likely look to shut down 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings. Expect Purdy to test Johnson but not over-commit throwing to his area.
