Cornerback Charvarius Ward is away from the team, preparing for Friday's funeral services in Dallas for his daughter, Amani Joy, who passed away last week. When asked about Ward's return timeline, an empathetic Kyle Shanahan responded, "We're on his time with that. So just whenever he's getting close to ready."
Wide receiver Chris Conley and defensive tackle Kevin Givens also did not practice.
The 49ers opened the practice window for defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos on Wednesday, with him listed as a limited participant. Running back Christian McCaffrey, whose practice window was opened earlier in the week, was also limited.
Wide receiver Jauan Jennings continues working his way back after missing the last two games due to a hip injury. Like Jennings, wide receiver Deebo Samuel was limited. He sustained rib and oblique injuries during the 49ers' Week 8 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Linebacker Dee Winters has cleared the concussion protocol.
