Wright entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019 and has since spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, and Carolina Panthers. Notably, he had a brief five-day stint with the 49ers in 2023.
Throughout his career, Wright has successfully converted 40 of 47 field goal attempts and 35 of 37 extra point attempts.
Moody suffered a high-ankle sprain on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals while attempting to make a tackle on a kickoff return following the blocked field goal that the 49ers' special teams unit returned for a touchdown.
Moody is expected to miss significant time. When asked after the game about the injury and his potential return, head coach Kyle Shanahan said, "I'm not sure [about the severity of the injury], but I know they told me a high-ankle, and that's never soon."
Shanahan didn't have an update when speaking to reporters on a Monday morning conference call.
Moody has connected on 13 of his 14 field goal attempts this season, with his only miss coming in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams. He's been perfect on field goals under 50 yards and is also 12-for-12 on extra points.
The 49ers selected Moody out of Michigan with a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
