Notes
Head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that tackle Trent Williams reported to the 49ers on Friday with a sore toe, which kept him from practicing. As a result, his status for Sunday is now questionable.
"He came in this morning, it was sore," Shanahan said of the injury. "It acted up a little bit in practice yesterday, and it was just too sore for him to go today."
Safety Talanoa Hufanga tweaked his ankle during Thursday's practice, leaving his status for Sunday questionable as well.
Shanahan confirmed that linebacker Curtis Robinson suffered a torn ACL during Thursday's practice, effectively ending his season.
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel and tight end George Kittle both continued to practice on Friday. Samuel, who suffered a calf strain in Week 2, missed Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams and was initially expected to be sidelined for two games. He returned to practice on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Kittle also missed the Rams game due to a hamstring injury but has practiced all week and has been cleared to play on Sunday.
Defensive tackle Jordan Elliott also returned to practice after being carted off the field on Thursday. His participation is encouraging news for the 49ers, who will rely on Elliott to step up in place of Javon Hargrave, expected to miss the rest of the season due to a partially torn triceps.
"He stepped on someone's foot—I think the last period of practice—kind of rolled his ankle," general manager John Lynch said Friday morning of Elliott's injury. "We feel like we got some positive news on him. ... I think, long-term, we feel good about it."
Below are Friday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Patriots, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
