San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa has been to two Super Bowls. Unfortunately, he's been on the losing end of both, with the latest defeat coming in February against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bosa, part of a trio of players who spoke during the 49ers' recent "State of the Franchise" event, was asked to share his thoughts on the upcoming season. His response was telling.


"It's time to get it done," Bosa declared.

Those few words captured the pass rusher's mentality heading into the 2024 season. After repeatedly being on the doorstep of a championship, including four NFC Championship Games and two Super Bowls over the past five seasons, the team is determined to overcome the final hurdle.

Tight end George Kittle and quarterback Brock Purdy joined Bosa at the event and were asked the same question. Kittle praised the front office for keeping the roster's talented core mostly together for another season.

"We didn't achieve the goal that we wanted to," Kittle said, referring to the 49ers coming just short of a championship last season. "Just being in the building, the hunger that you feel, the mindset that you see every single day, I can't judge right now if it's any better than it was last year, but you feel this energy in April, May, June. And you know that you're going to feel that when training camp comes.

"And the guys are just so ready to be on the field and playing football together, and that's what you want for a good football team."


While the team has turned the page on February's Super Bowl loss, the memory of it fuels the players as they prepare for their shot at redemption.

"Everyone in our locker room, this organization, knows what it takes to go all the way and how hard it is," Purdy stated. "It's not easy, and I think, last year, we got a glimpse of that in the playoff run. You've got to win, you've got to come back [in games]. It takes what it takes, and it's not easy, but we've got the guys to do it. We're doing it right now, and hope you guys believe in us. We know that you do, so we'll be ready for it."

The 49ers kick off their 2024 season with a September 9 Monday Night Football clash at home against the New York Jets. Training camp begins in late July.
