But it wasn't just the fans who were riled up over Snead's comments. 49ers CB Deommodore Lenoir responded to Snead's post with a post of his own, saying, "Why u sneak Dissin?" Lenoir seemingly didn't appreciate Snead's parting shot at his teammates. The former 49ers wide receiver not only took down his post but seems to have taken down his Twitter/X account altogether, but only after making another comment about wanting to go to the AFC North.
Recently, Lenoir was asked about Snead on Instagram and is still bothered by what his former teammate said a month ago. On his IG Live, Lenoir again responded to Snead's comments by saying, "I hope they bring Snead back so I can strap him up. He in his feelings. He over there talking about he wants to go back to the AFC North, a different brand of football. Come on now, he ain't gonna do that. They know how he is. They know how physical he is in practice."
Snead may still believe he didn't get a fair shake with the 49ers, but he overlooked a couple of things. First, no other team has signed him. So are the 49ers the only team "afraid to let guys compete for a roster spot?" Second, he failed to mention that he didn't produce when he got the chance.
In 2022 and 2023, while with the 49ers, Snead appeared in a combined eight games, hauling in only two catches for 14 yards. He did not play in any of the 49ers' postseason games. Furthermore, when the team dealt with injuries at the position during his two seasons in San Francisco, the 49ers chose to go with other players like Chris Conley and Ronnie Bell rather than with Snead. Why is that? Perhaps the coaching staff didn't believe Snead was as good as the others.
Regardless, Lenoir has taken exception to Snead's comments. And it's safe to bet some of Lenoir's teammates feel the same way.
