"They gave me the number," Pearsall said Wednesday morning on 95.7 The Game's "The Morning Roast" show. "That's what they assigned me for camp, so I'm going to rock out with it."
The receiver didn't specify if he plans to seek another number in the future. The number he wore in college, one, is currently taken by wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who is switching from number 19.
If Pearsall does keep number 14, maybe we'll see plenty of 13-to-14 connections during the upcoming season, with quarterback Brock Purdy frequently hitting his new target for significant yardage gains.
Pearsall added, "They say that number got no aura, but I'm gonna put some aura in it."
According to Sports Reference, Pearsall is coming off a 2023 college campaign where he tallied 65 receptions for 965 yards and four touchdowns through 12 games with Florida, averaging 14.8 yards per catch.
