Floyd matched his career-high with 10.5 sacks last season with the Bills, a statistic that would have tied with Bosa for the 49ers' team-high in 2023.
In a recent interview with team reporter Lindsey Pallares, Floyd was asked how he believes his skillset complements Bosa's.
"I believe our skill sets will complement each other well," Floyd responded. "We both been guys who've been getting sacks in this league. I'm just going to come in and do my job, do my part, and that's to come in to help him affect the game and get pressure on the quarterback."
Floyd had options in free agency, but joining a contender was his priority. That led him to the 49ers, who came close to walking away with the Vince Lombardi Trophy during the 2023 season.
"What made them a right fit was because they are a Super Bowl contending team," Floyd said. "And I wanted to come into a team where I knew I would have a chance to not only rush the quarterback, but also the chance to win the Super Bowl, which is the ultimate goal."
Having spent three seasons with the Rams, Floyd was already very familiar with the 49ers. When asked about his takeaways from those NFC West battles, the defensive end stated, "My biggest takeaway from playing them all those times is it's a team that comes out with guys that are violent, physical, and just grown man's football. That's the type of energy this ball club brings."
