It appears that San Francisco's fans will dominate the crowd at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas today as the 49ers take on the Chiefs in Super Bowl 58. According to third-party ticket seller Vivid Seats' metrics, an estimated 58 percent of the fans in the venue will be rooting for the 49ers.
"Based on their tracking, 49ers have the highest road-crowd average across all 32 teams, with an average of 48% of the crowd this season," wrote ESPN's Nick Wagoner.
49ers fans traveling well and the team's national appeal attracting local fans have greatly benefited head coach Kyle Shanahan's squad in recent years. The proximity of Las Vegas to the Bay Area doesn't hurt either.
During last season's regular-season game against the stadium's usual home team, the Raiders, the fan numbers overwhelmingly favored the 49ers, with an estimated 60 percent of the crowd cheering for the team in red and gold.
"I mean, it's a 45-minute flight from here, so I know The Faithful going to show up and show out, so I can't wait," linebacker Dre Greenlaw said before the game.
The 49ers have been two-point favorites over the Chiefs since the conclusion of the NFC Championship Game, and that hasn't changed in the hours leading to Super Bowl 58. The two teams will kick off at 3:30 p.m. PT.
