"I haven't thought about the end, so I know I'm definitely in for the next couple of years," Williams said. "I'll revisit it after that."
At 35 years old, Williams boasts an impressive resume featuring 11 Pro Bowl selections and three first-team All-Pro honors. While many will certainly understand if the offensive lineman wants to ride off into the sunset after adding a championship to his resume, hoisting the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday night might only make him hungry for more.
"Winning on Sunday will only make me want to win another one next year," Williams said. "When you can achieve something that feels this good, you kind of get addicted to it, right? You want to achieve that award again. So I think that it will only make me want it more."
Williams' current contract with the 49ers extends through the 2026 season. His salary cap hit this season was over $31 million, a number that will increase in each of the next two seasons.
Despite his long and illustrious NFL career, the future Hall of Fame offensive lineman will make his first Super Bowl appearance on Sunday.
