In addition, the 49ers elevated defensive lineman T.Y. McGill and cornerback Jason Verrett from the practice squad, making them available for tonight's game. Verrett officially returned to the team on December 11.
On Saturday, the 49ers ruled out defensive tackle Arik Armstead, linebacker Oren Burks, tight end Ross Dwelley, and wide receiver Jauan Jennings. Armstead will miss his third consecutive game due to foot and knee injuries. Burks is dealing with a knee injury, while Dwelley continues to work his way through a high-ankle sprain.
Jennings spent the week in the concussion protocol and didn't make enough progress to be available for tonight's game.
"He's made steps (through the protocol), but that's why we had to rule him out," head coach Kyle Shanahan explained. "Just with the protocol and stuff, not enough to be able to play."
