While head coach Kyle Shanahan remains hopeful, he admits there is uncertainty surrounding the availability of his All-Pro tackle.
"Trent, it's been longer than we anticipated," Shanahan shared on KNBR's "Tolbert and Copes" show. "It's just the ankle's been a little bit more than we thought at first. He's out there battling. He was able to get through some of practice today, which was his first time, really being limited in that way.
"Hopefully, he'll have a good day tomorrow and be able to be out there Sunday, but really not sure yet."

Shanahan also provided an update on Dre Greenlaw, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury but has fully participated in practice this week.
"I think the bye really helped Dre a lot," Shanahan said. "He was really banged up, especially that last game versus [the Cincinnati Bengals]. We probably shouldn't have even let him play that game once it was said and done. And so I think the bye week helped him a ton. He's had a great week of practice."
The 49ers will release their official game statuses on Friday. It will be interesting to see how the team designates Williams for Week 10's action.
